Biography
Jordyn Cartmell’s legal practice is devoted to first-party property insurance claim disputes and bad faith insurance litigation. Ms. Cartmell represents and protects the interests of residential and commercial property owners and helps maximize recovery after catastrophic losses such as windstorms, hail, water damage, collapse, fire, and agent negligence claims. These complex matters often include the recovery of additional insurance benefits such as business income losses and extra expense coverage. Ms. Cartmell prides herself on thorough attention to detail and strong legal research and writing skills. Since joining the firm, Ms. Cartmell has successfully represented clients at trial obtaining multi-million dollar verdicts and settlements. Ms. Cartmell has been recognized as a Super Lawyers Rising Star from 2017 to present – an award given to only 2.5% of attorneys under the age of 40. Ms. Cartmell is also a member of the Oklahoma Association of Justice’s Board of Directors.
Prior to working at Mansell & Engel, Ms. Cartmell spent nearly a decade practicing products liability and insurance defense, which helps her understand all sides of claims and insurance contracts. Ms. Cartmell represented major pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers throughout the nation in medical products liability cases and mass tort cases, including the historic opioid litigation in Cleveland County, Oklahoma. Ms. Cartmell also represented insurance companies in third-party cases and first-party insurance bad faith cases. These difficult cases required Ms. Cartmell to regularly learn the law of new states and understand the nuanced facets of the subject product.
Ms. Cartmell is licensed to practice in all state and federal courts for the State of Oklahoma and Kansas state court.
